Catching Up

Six Months On...We have had a number of New Adventures.
After our Fraser Island adventure, we got inspired and decided to invest in a Camper Trailer for our enjoyment. "Life is short, and anything can happen," was our philosophy. We shopped around and ended up finding the very best deal (for us) locally at 3-Dog Camping in Byron Bay.

Then, we got invited up to Brisbane to share in the greatest news of all--a new addition to the family! Newlyweds Jo and Joel were expecting. In early April (NOTE: Said bub was due around the 3rd, and is now busy making everyone giddy with anticipation. Typical Aries.)

Christmas in Goonengerry was planned and executed with grace and precision. We had my little family, Marnie and friend from New Zealand and approximately half of the Macdonald clan (especially if you count the unborn Gifkin/Stewart person), all happily, cozily ensconced in the Hilltop Hideaway in the rainforest. It was relaxing, fulfilling, and FILLING! We had more food than you can imagine. The Annual Goonengerry Christmas Eve Curry Dinner was born! The new camper trailer arrived in time to be inaugurated by Jo and Joel, plus one. Good Party.

Our first trip away with the new setup was to Lake Arragan, where we had been before. We even got the same spot, which is one of the best camping spots in NSW. We had a great time breaking in the new "rig" and learning how the right set up can add to the pleasure of camping.

In Early March, since I had to take a week off to recover from cateract surgery, we decided to go away again. This time to Boonoo Boonoo, near Bald Rock National Park. It was beautiful and invigorating and very scenic. We did lots of walking, as usual, including the spectacular walk to the top of Bald Rock. Discovered some beautiful places taking the Back Way home.

Now We Wait: Waiting for news from Brisbane. Planning the next trip, in ONE WEEK. Gosh. Stay tuned to this blog for updates from such places as Sundown National Park, Carnarvan Gorge, Great Keppel Island, and more...

Remember that you are welcome to enjoy pictorial chronicles of our adventures on my FLICKR site!
